About the Firm

Water gives land its life and value. It can be the difference between profitability and a dim business outlook. Communities depend on it being available with the turn of a faucet. Families trust it to be clean and safe. It grows crops. It builds economies. It sustains ecosystems. Water is no less a common thread to all corners of Texas life than the story of Texas itself.  Having strong water security can be one of the most important positions to hold when planning for the future.

This firm is focused on guiding clients through the challenges of land, environmental, and water rights protection at the local government, agency, and courthouse levels.  J.T. Hill, PLLC is built from the ground up for the water rights owner—growers, ranchers, landowners, manufacturers, and water suppliers of all sizes.

About Jason Hill

My career in water started when I was just a kid working on my family’s irrigated cotton and milo farm on the Texas High Plains. I learned early that prosperity depends on water availability. My experience continued to grow when I joined Senator Robert Duncan’s office after graduating from Texas Tech. He represented one of the largest legislative districts and agricultural economies in the country, and I had the good fortune of serving as his agriculture and natural resources policy advisor. I worked on key water issues during that time that became today’s framework for water rights in Texas. My work in the Texas Senate led me to Baylor Law School and then to the beginning of a lifetime career in this pivotal area of law. I founded this firm as a way to help landowners, businesses, and entire communities secure the water they need to flourish, protect their property, and make full value of the significant land and water assets they’re counting on for the future.
